This enriching tour brings Alaska’s indigenous heritage to life,

As we make our way from the scenic landscapes of Girdwood,

enjoy informative commentary highlighting the diverse cultures

and the connection between the land, the wildlife,

and Alaska's Native peoples.

Tour Highlights:

  • Scenic Drive: Begin your adventure with a beautiful drive along Turnagain Arm, with views of majestic mountains and the chance to spot Dall sheep or even beluga whales.

  • Exploration of the Alaska Native Heritage Center: Explore six authentic, life-sized village sites set along a forested walking path and surrounding Lake Tiulana. Each village site represents one of Alaska’s Native cultural groups, including the Inupiaq, Yup’ik, Alutiiq, and more. Guided tours only offered during summer months.​

  • Interactive Cultural Performances: Experience mesmerizing dance performances, hear captivating storytelling, and watch skilled artisans create traditional crafts. Participate in hands-on activities and deepen your understanding of Alaska’s indigenous traditions. Available on selected dates only.

  • Museum Galleries and Exhibits: Learn more through the indoor exhibits, where we’ll see artifacts, artworks, and multimedia displays that delve into the history and evolution of Native Alaskan life.
